Adopt A Street

Volunteer Sign Up Form

Do you love where you live and would like to help keep it looking clean and tidy?

If yes, then this campaign is for you. We are encouraging residents of Sandwell to adopt their street and pledge to keep it litter-free. We all need to do our bit for the environment and what a great place to start. Your own street!

The area you choose to litter pick can be as small or as large as you like. The time you spend volunteering is up to you. A 30-minute litter pick can make a difference but so can 5 minutes. We just want you to take part and join Litter Watch in making that difference.

The sense of pride you feel when you see a street free from litter is amazing. The scheme is open to individuals, schools, businesses and community groups.

If you would like to take part in this campaign we can offer you the equipment, rubbish collection (large amounts) and a sense of pride that you have chosen to take part in helping to keep Sandwell tidy.

In return for your commitment we will provide you with:

  • Litter picking equipment and bags (limited to 10 sets for community groups/schools)
  • Hi-viz vest & gloves
  • Guidance on health and safety

You can use your grey bin at home for disposing of any litter you collect but if you collect a large amount of litter, please contact the Litter Watch team.

We will list your street on the Google map below and give you encouragement by sharing your pledge on social media (if you agree).

If you see large items and fly-tipping, please report it here: Sandwell fly tipping

Serco and Sandwell Council will still be carrying out litter picking and street cleansing duties as well as a range of other activities to encourage people to dispose of their litter responsibly. Together we can help keep Sandwell clean.
